What Canada’s Children Need from the Federal Government

To protect children and strengthen Canada’s future, the federal government must invest in a coordinated national approach to address child and youth abuse.
  • Fund the work of Child & Youth Advocacy Centres of Canada and Kindex.
    • Invest in data collection, research, and knowledge sharing to improve Canada’s response for children and youth who have experienced abuse.
    • Standardize care through the development of a national CYAC accreditation program that to ensure consistent, evidence and trauma-informed services and supports are available to all children and youth in Canada.
  • Legislate a standard of care for every child and youth that has experienced abuse in Canada and commit appropriate federal funding to implement this standard in communities across the nation
